Turkey's pine nut exports have seen a significant increase of 55% in the first 11 months compared to the previous year, reaching $38.62 million from $24.95 million. The quantity of exports also rose by 33% to 606 tons from 455 tons. Italy was the main contributor to this increase, followed by Germany and Spain. However, Onder Özdemir, a pine nut exporter in İzmir, raised concerns about quality loss due to early harvesting and mentioned that major producers like Spain and Portugal have stopped producing this year. The main harvest in Turkey, located in the Bergama district of Izmir, resulted in a lower yield but met the expectations of the producers in terms of price.
