From May 2023 to August 2023, Turkey successfully exported 4,142 tons of honey to 40 countries, generating revenue of $13,468,114. The United States, Germany, and Israel emerged as the top buyers, accounting for a significant portion of the sales. Notably, the export portfolio expanded to include countries such as Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Croatia, Romania, Venezuela, China, and Cameroon, compared to the previous year. However, there have been cancellations of honey exports due to companies' errors, particularly in Europe. Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union, called for stricter inspections by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to ensure traceability and proper packaging to prevent future order cancellations.
