In 2021, despite the drought, Turkey experienced a successful year in honey production and export, with a total of 9,875 tons sold to 55 countries, generating an income of $30,498,606. This represents a 65% increase in quantity and an 18% increase in value compared to the previous year. The USA was the top buyer, followed by Germany and Spain. Honey exports from the Eastern Black Sea Region also saw a 41% increase, generating over $2 million in income. The demand for honey has increased due to the coronavirus epidemic as people are more interested in supplements.
