Turkish pistachio exports up 76% in 2021

The volume of exports of pistachios from Turkey in 2021 increased by 76% compared to 2020, to $209.69 million, Anadolu Agency reports with reference to the Association of Exporters Unions of Southeast Anatolia (GAİB). Turkish pistachio exports totaled $118.92 million last year, according to GAIB. Last year, Turkey exported 20,332 tons of pistachios to 110 countries, including Italy, Germany, China, Canada, Portugal, Malaysia, Malta, the Taiwan region (PRC), Morocco, Japan, Moldova, the UK, Cuba and Russia. Italy became the leading importer of Turkish pistachios, exports to which last year amounted to $50.07 million, followed by Germany - $33.63 million, China - $12.84 million.
