The United Kingdom: Conference pear price down 25% from last week

This week, the UK's Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs released average wholesale prices for homegrown products. The biggest price increase for fruit was in the price of field rhubarb, which increased by 19%, from £1.57 (€1.83) per kg to £1.87 (€2.18) per kg. Most prices have fallen compared to last week. For example, Conference pears are now 25% cheaper, the prices for round tomatoes are 18% lower and the prices for strawberries have fallen by 11%.
