Ukrainian farmers are strategically reducing production costs and expanding the cultivation of profitable crops for the 2023 harvest due to falling farming margins. The total area under oilseeds is projected to increase by 5% year-on-year, with an expected 11% rise in harvest. The planting of sunflower seeds is on the rise, especially in regions still in operation due to the 'grain corridor' for vegoil exports. Soybean planting is also expanding in safer western regions of Ukraine, driven by high European demand and active export shipments. Despite the decrease in winter rapeseed plantings, the expansion of sunflower and soybean plantings is expected to compensate, with detailed analysis available in the 'BLACK SEA VEGOIL' Weekly Report by UkrAgroConsult.
