A recent meeting between Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitaliy Golovna, and Romania's Ambassador to Ukraine, Alexander Victor Mikula, focused on strengthening cooperation in the fisheries sector. The discussion aimed at enhancing scientific collaboration in the shared water bodies, the Danube and the Black Sea, and exchanging expertise in the research of valuable fish species like turbot. The two nations also explored the potential for joint approaches to sturgeon stocking in the Danube as a means to boost biodiversity. Furthermore, the meeting addressed the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to harmonize with the regulatory and legal standards of the European Union. This initiative is aligned with Ukraine's Fisheries Industry Development Strategy, which is set to be implemented by 2030.
