Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Vysotsky said on Monday that wheat production in 2026 could reach between 24 million and 25 million tons. For comparison, Ukraine's wheat production in 2025 was 23 million tons, and in 2024, it was 22.6 million tons.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Economy stated last week that winter wheat sowing for 2026 has concluded, covering an area of 4.7 million hectares. The total area for winter crop sowing in 2026 is expected to reach 6.43 million hectares.
Last month, Vysotsky said that due to increased wheat production and sluggish exports, Ukraine will not limit wheat exports for the 2025/26 season (July to June of the following year). Ukraine's wheat exports for the 2024/25 season amounted to 15.7 million tons.
