The Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Food of Greece and the National Scientific Council for the Management and Control of Sheep and Goat Pox today published updated summary data on the spread of the disease in the country, according to data from the Veterinary Services. According to the data, for the period from August 2024 to December 19, 2025, 1,985 confirmed cases of sheep and goat pox have been registered in 2,449 farms across the country, and 450,233 animals have been culled within the framework of the application of the health protocols. For the last reporting week (December 12–19, 2025), 74 new cases were registered in seventeen (17) regions (regional units/metropolitan units) based on the results of laboratory tests. These are P.E. Achaea, Etoloakarnania, Evros, Ilia, Imathia, Kavala, Karditsa, Larissa, Magnesia and Sporades, Xanthi, Pieria, Rhodope, Serres, Trikala, Fokida, and M.E. Thessaloniki.
