On December 1, there were 75.5 million hogs on U.S. farms, a 1% increase from December 2024 and a slight increase from September 1, 2025, according to the Quarterly Hogs Report published by the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Of the 75.5 million hogs, 69.6 million were market hogs, while 5.95 million were breeders. Between September and November 2025, 35 million piglets were weaned on U.S. farms, a slight increase from the same period the previous year.
