According to the USDA, the area destined for upland cotton should reach 9.95 million acres, which configures a 9% drop in relation to 2024. For American Pima cotton, the estimate is 171,000 acres planted, 17% below the area registered in the previous year. As of June 29, producers had completed planting 95% of the crop, two percentage points below the same period in 2024 and three points below the five-year average.
