USA: USDA defines payment of fees in aid package for producers

By Isadora Duarte Brasília, 02/01/2026 - The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported in a statement the beginning of the new phase of the Agricultural Assistance Program (FBA, in English acronym), a package of American government aid to producers harmed by low commodity prices and trade disputes. The department announced the payment rates per acre for each eligible commodity. There will be $12 billion in aid to farmers, with $11 billion in direct payments by the FBA. "Farmers can rely on these payment rate calculations when going to the bank to plan the spring planting season. Farmers who qualify for the FBA Program will receive the payments in their bank accounts by February 28, 2026," said the country's Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, in the statement.
