The United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service anticipates a significant shift in the global orange juice market for the 2020/21 season. Brazil's production is projected to surge by 20% to 1.2 million tonnes, making it the world's largest producer and contributor to global exports, accounting for three quarters of the market. Conversely, the United States is expected to experience a decline in production by 16%, totaling 250,000 tonnes, due to a decrease in the volume of oranges available for processing. Meanwhile, Brazil's orange production is expected to increase by 14%, reaching 16.9 million tonnes, with a greater portion allocated for processing. Florida, a key contributor to U.S. juice production, is estimated to see a 20% reduction in orange production.
