USDA maintains 7M tonnes forecast for 2025/26 soyabean oil use in biofuel production

biofuel production in 2024/25, down from the previous month’s estimate of 11.9bn pounds (4.9M tonnes), with an estimated 12.995bn pounds (5.89M tonnes) used in 2023/24. Looking at the global soyabean outlook in 2025/26, features included higher production, increased crushing, lower exports and raised ending stocks. Global soyabean production was forecast to increase by 800,000 tonnes to 422.5M tonnes, reflecting higher output in Russia and India but lower volumes in Canada and Ukraine. The 2025/25 estimate for worldwide soyabean crushing was increased by 300,000 tonnes to 365.2M tonnes, mainly due to higher supplies in Russia and India. Global soyabean exports were lowered by 300,000 tonnes due to lower shipments from Ukraine and Benin. While imports were reduced for Japan, Russia and Saudi Arabia, they were raised for Brazil.
