Randy Spronk, Chair of the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF), along with representatives from the Indiana Soybean Alliance (ISA), met with Indonesian buyers to explore market opportunities for U.S. soybeans and red meat. The team's efforts, funded by various organizations, included a presentation on U.S. red meat market potential, a visit to the Food and Hotel Indonesia trade show, and discussions with meat importers. In 2024, U.S. pork exports to Indonesia surged, benefiting from reduced EU supply, and there is optimism for expanding U.S. beef market share, despite challenges like the lengthy plant approval process. USMEF's work in Indonesia, backed by funding and support from partners, aims to overcome trade barriers and boost U.S. red meat consumption.
