Turkey's cashew imports experienced a significant surge in the first four months of 2021, with the country importing a total of 3,323 tons and spending over 11.95 million USD. Vietnamese cashews made up over 90% of these imports, contributing nearly 11 million USD to the import value. This increase could be attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting social distancing measures, which have led to a rise in demand for nut products in Turkey.
