Along with this, thanks to the promotion of investment in dairy cattle farming, the total number of dairy cows nationwide has grown at an average rate of 4.6% per year, from 228,000 cows in 2014 to approximately 335,000 cows in 2024. The production of raw milk has achieved a growth rate of nearly 8.4% per year, from 550,000 tons in 2014 to over 1.2 million tons in 2024, helping Vietnam to become self-sufficient in about 40% of its domestic raw milk supply. However, the average per capita consumption of milk in Vietnam is still low compared to the world.
