The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam held a meeting on the pangasius industry in 2023 in An Giang Province, where it was reported that the biggest problem facing the industry is a sharp decline in sales of aquatic products in many countries. Vietnam's pangasius exports in 2023 are expected to total around US$1.8 billion, with exports to major markets such as China, the United States, and the European Union falling by 17% to 53%. Despite uninterrupted farming activities, the difficulties in export activities have caused the domestic raw material purchase price to drop, prompting the need for measures to strengthen the production chain, inject more funds, and expand the market to solve the industry's difficulties.
