Vietnam's steamed tuna loin exports to the EU increased by 6% in the first half of 2021

According to Vasep.com.vn According to Eurostat, EU tuna processors bought 104,050 tonnes of steamed tuna loins in the first half of this year, down 6% year-on-year, but higher than the 97,012 tonnes in the same period in 2019. The volume of steamed tuna loins imported into the EU in the second quarter of the year improved compared to the first quarter. The average import price of steamed tuna loins into the EU in the first half of this year stood at EUR 4,352/ton, equivalent to the price of the same period last year. By the end of the first quarter of 2021, the Autonomous Tariff Quota (ATQ) for steamed tuna loins imported into the EU has been used up. Therefore, it is not surprising that China's exports of this product group to the EU in the second quarter of 2021 were only about 1,500 tons higher than in the previous quarter.
