Vietnamese tuna exporters have accelerated shipments to the United States to mitigate the risk of potentially significant tariff increases (up to 46%) after the temporary 90-day tax period ends on July 9, 2025.
In May, Vietnam's tuna exports to the European Union declined, dropping by 11%.
Although exports to the largest EU markets of the Netherlands and Italy continued to grow, the growth rates slowed to 11% and 15%, respectively. Exports to Germany showed a more significant decline compared to the same period last year.
In May, Vietnam's exports to Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) member countries rebounded significantly, increasing by 25%.
