The article reports on the completion of the walnut harvest in Kırşehir, Turkey, where both local and foreign varieties were collected. The harvest, which started in mid-September and ended in late October, was impacted by agricultural frost during winter and spring, affecting trees in stream beds and hollow areas. Despite this, foreign varieties, which are less affected by frost, were less impacted and contributed to the season's good yields. Last year, around 4,500 tons of walnuts were produced in Kırşehir, and this year, around 3,500 tons were obtained. The article highlights the resilience of foreign walnut varieties to agricultural frost and the continued demand for local varieties, which are valued for their thin skin and flavor.
