Bilecik province in Turkey is projected to produce around 3,500 tons of walnuts this year, building on last year's production of 2,381 tons. The province, known for its favorable climate and fertile soil, is one of the major walnut cultivation areas in Turkey. Producers in the Büyükbelen village use new techniques and have seen increased production and satisfaction among farmers and buyers, with the quality of the 'Chandler' type walnuts being high. The Walnut Production Expansion Project by the Bilecik Governorship has also distributed free walnut saplings, contributing to the increase in production. The walnuts are sold for 10-15 liras per kilogram.
