Smart farming techniques, including the cultivation of Inpari IR Nutri Zink rice, have been adopted by farmers in Wanayasa Regency, leading to increased productivity and higher selling prices compared to other rice varieties. This initiative involves maximizing water use and incorporating compost, allowing for three crop plantings annually with yields of 5.6 to 6 tons. Extension agents are playing a key role in supporting farmers in these practices. The Food and Agriculture Office of Purwakarta Regency has also implemented Inpari IR Nutri Zink rice farming over 1,383 hectares in 2022, with some harvests already completed and the remainder expected in 2023, as it is a biofortified rice variety containing zinc to combat stunting.
