The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued warning letters to three food exporting companies; Vlazar Costa Caribe S.A. in Nicaragua, Mahi Frozen Foods in Pakistan, and Myllan-ORA ehf in Iceland, for violations of the seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulation. The inspections revealed that these companies failed to have and implement a HACCP plan that complies with FDA requirements. The issues include failure to conduct hazard analysis, failure to list critical control points, and inadequate monitoring procedures. The companies have 15 days to respond to the warning letters.
