Ukrainian watermelon producers have resumed active harvesting of their products. This has caused an increase in market supply, which in turn has led to a drop in prices. These data are provided by the portal EastFruit. Currently, prices for watermelons have fallen to the range of 5-15 UAH/kg ($0.12-0.36/kg), which is on average 31% cheaper than a week ago. In addition to the increase in supply, there is another reason for this trend. The southern regions were hit by a drought, which negatively affected the quality of watermelons. Selling such products is becoming increasingly difficult. Additionally, it is worth noting that the main part of the supply consists of large-caliber products, the demand for which is quite weak.
