Hungary has seen a significant increase in the selling price of L-shaped eggs and whole chicken, with a 100 percent rise between 2022 and 2023, compared to an EU average increase of 68.6 percent. The price of eggs in Hungary is higher than in Slovakia, Poland, and Italy, and the country's poultry meat imports have increased by 65.6 percent between 2021 and 2022, while exports have only increased by 23.3 percent. The price increase is largely due to a rise in feed prices.
