Experts consider the pre-harvest condition of cereals and rapeseed to be satisfactory - with promising forecasts, harvesting will begin in the southern regions of Slovakia at the end of June. "Depending on the altitude of the individual growing areas, the harvest may start this year at the end of June, beginning of July, i.e. in the coming days," said Jana Holéciová, spokesperson of the Slovak Chamber of Agriculture and Food Industry (SPPK). According to him, the start of the harvest will be delayed by about a week this year compared to last year. "Last year, harvesting began on June 16 in the Komárom district. The reason for this was the extreme drought, which pushed the start of the harvest about two weeks earlier than the traditional time. This year the situation is different.
