Buffel grass or Cenchrus ciliaris L. is a perennial grass of African origin, widely used in arid and semi-arid regions marked by a scarcity of rainfall. Its great resistance to lack of water, its rapid regrowth, and its good fodder contribution make it an alternative for recovering degraded areas and maintaining livestock in these environments. This is what motivated a team from INTA Quines to evaluate its application in the province of San Luis, where it could become a key tool for producers. According to their findings, the implementation of buffel grass is recommended at the beginning of the rainy season, with selective clearing, roller, and seedbox.
