In March 2023, the milling of wheat in the Biobío Region of Chile saw an 8.5% year-on-year decline, contributing to a 3.6% nationwide decrease in wheat processing. The region accounted for 8.3% of the country's total wheat milling between January and March 2023, which experienced an 11.9% negative variation. Similarly, wheat products and by-products also saw decreases, with the national production of first class flour down by 3.5% and bran down by 3.9%.
