The wholesale price of broiler carcasses in Russia has increased by 4% over the past week and 9% year-over-year, reaching RUB 195 per kg as of December 1, according to the National Union of Poultry Farmers and the National Union of Pig Breeders. Despite this, retail prices for chicken meat have fallen by 5.3% compared to last year, as production costs are on the rise. The Cherkizovo Group has raised the prices of its poultry products by 5.7% due to increased costs, and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has ordered the company to sell part of its poultry products on the commodity exchange to prevent monopolistic pricing. Poultry meat production in Russia reached 4.065 million tons from January to December of the current year, accounting for nearly half of the total meat production.
