The Indonesian government has announced new regulations limiting the export of crude palm oil (CPO) in anticipation of increased domestic demand during the Ramadan and Idul Fitri holidays in March 2023. The regulations reduce the export volume ratio from 1:8 to 1:6, meaning companies can now only export six times the volume of their domestic market obligations. Despite these restrictions, the government does not expect a significant impact on export performance and believes exporters will be able to meet both domestic and international commitments. The Indonesian Palm Oil Producers Association supports this export policy but suggests it be monitored and adjusted as necessary to balance both domestic and international market demands.
