The rise in price of vegetables borsch set in Ukraine by 2.6 times this year is associated with a number of factors. Among them are the general level of inflation in Ukraine and the world and unfavorable conditions for vegetable growers, which developed during the season - at the beginning of the sowing period in spring and at the end of summer - at the beginning of autumn when harvesting products. This opinion was expressed by the President of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPOA) Taras Bashtannik on the air of the UA: Perviy TV channel.

According to Taras Bashtannik, difficult weather conditions influenced the quality of the products and, as a result, their ability to maintain quality in the future. “The third factor is the rise in prices for all components of vegetable production, which, by the way, will continue to rise in price. We are talking about electricity, fertilizers, plant protection products, fuels and lubricants, etc. All this, together with a smaller gross harvest, led to an increase in prices for products not only of borsch set, but also of other types of vegetables, ”the UPAA president notes.
