Brazil has now recorded 58 cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza, with the majority of cases in the Espírito Santo region. The disease has been found in wild birds and one domestic duck farm, causing concern for the poultry industry as the southern states are the largest producers of chicken in the country. Despite the cases, the Ministry of Agriculture reassures that none of the outbreaks have occurred in commercial farms and that the country's health status remains unchanged.
