Global coffee prices have barely increased by 0.5% in October compared to September, following a series of fluctuations during the month marked by tariff negotiations and various production and logistics issues. The International Coffee Organization (ICO) has published its composite coffee price index, which averaged 326.38 US cents (282.14 euro cents) per pound produced (equivalent to about 453 grams). This level is 30.3% above that recorded in the same month of the previous year, according to the ICO, which has highlighted some factors that have caused the index to rise and fall throughout October. Among these are the potential reduction of tariffs on Brazilian coffee by the U.S. Administration of Donald Trump, who has anticipated an agreement in this regard.
