Director General of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) Dmitry Rylko believes that the export of dairy products from Russia can help reduce the excess of goods on the market and stabilize prices, writes Interfax. However, due to restrictions on export subsidies set by the WTO, Russia cannot use state export subsidies, so the mechanism of private subsidies can be effective, the expert believes. Rylko also noted that in 2023 the situation in dairy farming and in the Russian milk market is very difficult. Thanks to the implementation of large investment projects and stimulation of production, last year the second largest increase in milk in the commodity sector was received in the history of the country.
