Shipments of Chilean fresh fruits register an increase of 11.3% in value until September

During the January-September 2023 period, Chilean fresh fruit exports reached sales of 2,138,000 tons, equivalent to 4,612 million FOB dollars. These exports registered a decrease in volume of 7.3%, but an increase in value of 11.3% compared to the same period of the previous year. The main species exported in the analysis period was the cherry, registering a volume of 302,827 tons (+6.1% compared to the same period in 2022), equivalent to 1,819 million FOB dollars (+21.8%), which represents 39.4% of the total value of fresh fruit exports in the analysis period. The main destination is China (91.1% of the total value of Chilean cherry exports were sent to that country). Table grapes are next in importance, with 495,308 tons (-18%) equivalent to USD 865.8 million FOB (+0.4%), which represents 18.8% of the total value of fresh fruit exports.
