Taro Leaves most commonly known in Indonesia as Talas Beneng are the heart-shaped leaves of the taro plant (Colocasia Esculenta), usually grown in subtropical and tropical regions. While the leaves of the taro plant are known for their edible starchy roots, they are also a staple in a variety of cuisines and tobacco substitutes.

Mace

Mace is the sister spice of nutmeg. Mace from Indonesia one commonly known as ‘Bunga Pala‘ or ‘Fuli‘. Nutmeg trees are the only plant to give us two spices. (As opposed to a plant like dill which gives us a spice and an herb.) Nutmegs are the actual seeds of the tree while mace is what is known as an airl—the protective coating of the seed. Mace’s flavor and aroma differ slightly from nutmeg as its profile tends to be sharper and less sweet. It still carries distinct flavors of nutmeg, but with subtle notes of pine, black pepper, and coriander-like citrus. The essential oils of mace and nutmeg have different chemical compositions and noticeably different flavors even though they come from the same plant. This is similar to how an orange peel will taste and smell different than the flesh.

Husked Coconut

Full husked coconut matured coconuts the husk is removed completely. Semi husked coconut the husk is left intact over the “eyes” of the coconut.

Fully matured coconuts, but after hulling, the husk on the “eyes” of the coconut is intact for semi husked. This is a sensitive area and by protecting it we can extend the life of the coconut by protecting the perishable area. These are also fully matured coconuts, but the husks have been completely removed. The shelf life of this variety is slightly less than that of semi-husked ones, but since there is no husk, handling these coconuts can be done easily. These coconuts must be stored in a cool, dry place.
