In W28 in the mango landscape, Tommy mango prices remained stable across Brazil. This variety’s limited supply, combined with slower demand due to cooler temperatures in the south and southeast regions, have helped sustain prices. Large exporting farms are preparing for shipments to the United States (US), resulting in lower volumes for the domestic market in July. Tommy mango prices stood at USD 0.45/kg (BRL 2.16/kg) in Vale, a 16% increase compared to the previous week, and USD 0.40/kg (BRL 1.93/kg) in Livramento de Nossa Senhora, Bahia. During W28, the Colombian Baby Mango prices stood at USD 7/kg in CIP Toronto terms. Due to shortages in the production area, the price is forecasted to increase to USD 7.8/kg in the upcoming week. On the other hand, warmer winter temperatures in Peru are causing delays in citrus and blueberry harvests, indicating potential early signs of the El Niño weather phenomenon. This has led to concerns regarding the mango crop. The flowering of Peruvian mangoes in the main growing area of Piura has been adversely affected, with less than 1% estimated flowering in June. As a result, there will be a lack of fruit in November and minimal supply in December for the European market. Recent weather conditions have shown slight improvements, and these conditions will continue to be monitored as the mango season progresses.

The Spanish mango harvest, expected to begin mid-August, is forecasted to be 60 to 70% below its potential of 40 thousand tons. The drought conditions and unfavorable weather during the blooming in late May and early June have resulted in lower crop yields.

On the other hand, the consumption of exotic fruits such as mango, limes, papaya, and passion fruit in Greece is almost down 50% YoY in 2023 due to lower tourist volumes. Lastly, the Russian Federal Service of Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision attended the "AAMRUS-2023" mango festival organized by the Embassy of India in Russia on July 7, 2023. During the event, a representative of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision expressed optimism that the festival would foster long-term cooperation between Indian mango producers and Russian importers. Furthermore, the development of the North-South transport corridor holds promising prospects for the supply of Indian agricultural and horticultural products to Russia, such as mangos.
