In W34 in the peach and nectarine landscape, the DO Melocotón de Calanda harvest, an early peach variety, in the Caspe region in Spain commenced. 2023 Do Melocotón de Calanda's peach production is expected to reach 4.5 thousand metric tons (mt), a two-fold increase compared to 2022. However, the final output is contingent on weather conditions, as potential storms might jeopardize the already ripe fruit on the trees. The present harvest is underway, two weeks ahead of the norm. This is due to the early variety introduction of 570 peaches in 2022. Concurrently, producers have recently completed on-tree bagging work in regions with late peach varieties. This is a practice ensuring uniform ripening and enhanced product quality.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports that Russia’s peach and nectarine imports from Turkey amounted to 153.35 thousand mt in the 2022/23 season, a significant increase of 29.5% from 2021/22. This indicates that Russia is the primary importer of Turkish peaches and nectarines. Notably, Turkey's peach and nectarine exports to the global market reached 204.21 thousand mt in 2022/23, an increase of 19.83% from 2021/22.

Lastly, the Chilean peach and nectarine harvest is expected to reach 162.5 thousand mt in the 2023/24 season, a growth of 1.6% compared to 2022/23. Correspondingly, Chilean peach and nectarine exports are estimated at 106.4 thousand mt in 2023/24, a rise of 2.3% year-on-year (YoY). These harvest and export YoY increases are contingent on consistent yields and marginal cultivation acreage expansion.
