In W36 in the peanut landscape, the Vice President of the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa) met with the Executive Director of the Argentine Peanut Chamber to discuss the activities of the Chamber and the current state of peanut production in Argentina. During the meeting, they also confirmed an agreement with South Africa for the phytosanitary certification of blanched peanut exports, allowing the resumption of peanut exports to the country. In 2022, peanut exports to South Africa were 1.85 thousand tons, worth USD 2.27 million.

Argentina is the largest peanut producer in Latin America and the seventh largest worldwide, with a strong export market presence. Argentine peanuts are known for their quality and are exported to over 106 countries, with significant consumption in the European Union (EU) and China. The Peanut Cluster in Argentina involves various stakeholders, including producers, exporters, and research institutions, all working to ensure the quality and safety of peanut products. In 2022 and so far in 2023, Argentina exported 954.19 thousand tons worth USD 1.22 billion of peanuts to different countries.

Lastly, in New Zealand, the Northland peanut trials, aimed at exploring the region's potential for commercial peanut farming, are set to continue after a challenging second year. Severe weather, including unseasonable wet conditions, impacted the trials in their second year, resulting in damaged crops. However, the project is back for its third year, with around 5 hectares (ha) of peanuts expected to be planted in October and November.
