In W37 in the jackfruit landscape, on Monday, September 11, the price of Thai jackfruit in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam, increased compared to the previous day. In Tiền Giang, Nhat jackfruit was priced at USD 1.80 per kilogram (kg), large Kem jackfruit at USD 1.68/kg, and small Kem jackfruit at USD 1.23/kg. Furthermore, the price of red-fleshed jackfruit increased by USD 0.082 to USD 0.12/kg compared to the previous day, depending on the region. First-grade red-fleshed jackfruit reached USD 2.67/kg (for fruits weighing 8 kgs or more), and second-grade jackfruit was priced at USD 2.26/kg (for fruits weighing 6 kgs or more). Consequently, the price of red-fleshed jackfruit is USD 0.5 to USD 0.86/kg higher than that of Thai jackfruit. Moreover, the price of red-fleshed jackfruit remains the same in the Mekong Delta and other regions, while Thai jackfruit in the Mekong Delta is priced significantly higher than in the East.

On September 12, Thai jackfruit prices in the Mekong Delta remained unchanged. Traders and buyers reported a lively market due to the high prices, although there were no further price increases. In Tiền Giang, Nhat jackfruit was priced at USD 1.80/kg, large Kem jackfruit at USD 1.68/kg, and small Kem jackfruit at USD 1.23/kg. Meanwhile, on September 16, Thai jackfruit prices in the Mekong Delta declined, dropping by USD 0.082/kg. In Tiền Giang, Nhat jackfruit was priced at USD 1.72/kg, large Kem jackfruit was priced at USD 1.60/kg, and small Kem jackfruit was priced at USD 1.15/kg.

Over the past five years, Vietnam has experienced an average annual growth rate of approximately 10 to 15% in fruit exports. The primarily exported fruits are dragon fruit, mango, jackfruit, and banana, collectively making up around 85% of fresh fruit and vegetable exports. In the first seven months of 2023, fruit exports reached approximately USD 1.1 billion, with expectations to reach USD 1.7 billion by year-end.
