In W37 in the pear landscape, Argentina's pear exports in the first half of 2023 were 252.2 thousand tons, a 17% year-over-year (YoY) increase. The pear harvest was 543.6 thousand tons, with 37% going to the juice industry and 16% to the domestic market. Argentina exported 90.1 thousand tons of pears to Brazil, 52.4 thousand tons to Russia, 41.8 thousand tons to the United States (US), 12.7 thousand tons to Italy, and 11.8 thousand tons to Mexico.

In the US, Californian Bartlett pear growers are pleased with the current crop, despite a cold spring and a two-week harvest delay. They are producing high-quality fruit for fresh consumption and processing. The harvest is underway in the Sacramento River Delta and Lake and Mendocino counties, where nearly 90% of the state's pear crop is grown. In 2022, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported 3.8 thousand acres dedicated to pear cultivation in California.

Lastly, Taiwan's Ministry of Agriculture approved the first export of domestically bred pears to the United Kingdom (UK). The "Baodao Ganlu Jumbo Pear" was chosen due to its hardiness for one-month storage aboard European ships. The Ministry has also sold pomelos to the UK and 3.53 tons of jumbo pears. The jumbo pear, a "Taiwanese native cultivar," has shown resistance to diseases and infections, reducing the need for pesticides. The pear is grown in Miaoli County's Jhuolan Township, with 4.9 thousand hectares (ha) dedicated to its cultivation, and annual production has reached about 100 thousand tons.
