As of January 29, 2024, pepper prices globally and domestically remained stable. Prices varied across different regions, with Indonesia's Lampung black pepper and Muntok white pepper priced at 3,863 USD/ton and 6,091 USD/ton respectively. Malaysia's Kuching ASTA black pepper was 4,900 USD/ton and ASTA white pepper was 7,300 USD/ton. Brazil's ASTA 570 black pepper was 3,270 USD/ton. In Vietnam, black pepper grades 500 and 550 g/l were priced at 3,900 and 4,000 USD/ton respectively, and white pepper was 5,700 USD/ton. Domestically, the price ranged from 80,000 - 83,000 VND/kg. Global pepper production is projected to decrease by 4.3% in 2023 and by 1.1% in 2024, with Vietnam's output expected to decrease by 10.5% in 2024 compared to 2023.
