Brazil: The Demand for Mango Remains Strong in the Domestic Market (Oct 21)

Colombia
The Devaluation of the Colombian Peso Affecting Fruit Imports (Oct 21)
From June to the last week of October, the value of the Colombian Peso decreased by 30% against the United States dollar. The peso devaluation is affecting fruit importers as imports are getting more expensive. Local buyers are looking to source locally to fulfill the local demand for some fruits like baby mangoes and guavas.
Kenya
Kenya’s Mango Export Volume Remains Stagnant Due to Tough Competition From Egypt Mango in W42 (Oct 22)
The self-imposed ban on Kenyan mango exports to Europe is still in effect, with the key main export countries being Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. The peak mango season in Kenya is between October 15 and January 15. The FOB price in W42 stands at USD 4.00/4kg box, but the Kenyan export volume has not picked up because of stiff competition from Egypt, especially since the Egyptian export season will end in November.
Spain
The 2022 Spanish Osteen Mango Campaign Concluded With a Majority of Category II Mangoes (Oct 20)
The campaign of the Osteen variety mango, which accounts for 70% of the total mango production of the Spanish mango campaign, has now concluded. Farmers were paid an average of USD 0.73/kg for the 2022 season, which is USD 0.20/kg less than in 2021 due to the high percentage of category II small-sized mangos. This, together with the increase in production costs, has generated discomfort among farmers and could lead to mango plantations shifting to other profitable crops by 2023. Currently, the Keitt variety mango is beginning to be marketed and will be present for approximately three weeks. The campaign is forecasted to end in mid-November, two weeks earlier than usual due to the high temperatures that have generally advanced the harvests throughout the campaign of the different varieties. The Keitt variety is characterized by its large size, with the 6/7/8 sizes being the most widely available. In W42, the Keitt price is around USD 1.61/kg EXW Spain, packed in 4-kg boxes.
