In Peru, the Piura Ecological and Solidarity Agrarian Cooperative (CAES) successfully exported over 20 tons of organic peanuts to France, a commercial commitment of 150 tons, with Sierra y Selva Exportadora's assistance. The cooperative plans to export to an Ethiquable company in 2024, with four additional shipments scheduled for May-24, Aug-24, Nov-24, and Dec-24. Sierra y Selva Exportadora provided technical assistance to meet organic, quality, and certification requirements.
Peanuts are a major focus of Russia's nut imports, totaling over 230 thousand tons annually. Despite a decline in nut production since 1990, there has been a resurgence, with over 31 thousand tons of nuts collected in 2023. Russia exports 25 thousand tons of nuts, primarily to China, the Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan, with pine nuts making up 80% of exports. The government plans to introduce export duties on unshelled pine nuts, starting at 25% in 2024 and increasing to 50% in 2025.
