The farmgate price of Turkish dried lentils decreased by 16.67% YoY to USD 0.8/kg in W5 Jun-22. Increased cultivation area by 35% YoY in Diyarbakir region because of the low input costs of dried lentils compared to wheat. The low price of Turkish dried lentils boosts sales in the international market. In the first four months of 2022, Turkey exported 168,149 mt of dried lentils worth USD 194.76 million, up by 44% YoY in export volume and 105.7% YoY in export value.
