Due to a high-yield year in pistachio production, the U.S. production is expected to surge by 43% to a record 71.3 million tons. This forecast is based on data from processors' grower delivery reports. Previous years' data were published by the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in the "Non-Citrus Fruits and Nuts" report. The U.S. consumption is expected to grow by 13% to a record 22.5 million tons in 2025/26, second only to the EU. Exports are expected to rebound by more than 20% from last year's low production year to nearly a record 42.5 million tons. Due to reduced production in Turkey, Iran, and Syria, the U.S. is expected to increase shipments to major Asian and European markets. After last year's reduced inventory, the end-of-season inventory is expected to more than double to 13.1 million tons, mainly due to the record production.
