Wheat prices in India rose by +17.66% YoY to USD 0.32/kg. The supply chain was disrupted due to the ongoing war between Russia - Ukraine, firm global demand, and extreme weather are attributed to an increased Indian wheat price in May 2022. India took the initiative to ban wheat exports temporarily to ensure domestic supply and control the domestic wheat price. This would worsen the situation of the wheat industry in the global market in the near future.
