In the first 4 months of 2020, Vietnamese tea exports have decreased by more than 16% due to the current COVID pandemic. The postponement of orders from key markets such as the UK, US, and other EU countries has led to a remarkable fall in the price of Vietnamese exported tea to about USD 1,600 per kg, around 3.2% decrease compared to the same period in 2019. However, amid the tough time, black exports in fact increased. For black tea, export volume and value reached 15,300 MT and USD 20.2 million, increasing 22.8% and 15%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2019.
