The export of milk powder from New Zealand to India is not profitable because of the high product price and high customs duties. With a price of USD 2500 per MT and a duty of USD 750, giving a total of USD 3250 per MT, the price is significantly higher than the European offer prices. The duty is 30 percent on milk imports in India.
